SUSPENSION OF PLANNED NATIONWIDE DEMONSTRATION AGAINST THE IMPLEMENTATION OF 15% VAT ON ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION
Sequel to a Press Release by Government on 7th February, 2024 announcing the suspension of the implementation of 15% VAT on electricity consumption by residential consumers and official communication of same to the leadership of Organized Labour, and having discussed the suspension and matters arising on Friday, 9th February, 2024 at Organised Labour meeting held at the Trade Union Hall in Accra;
The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) would like to inform our members across the country that the planned demonstration scheduled for Tuesday, 13th February, 2024 at all the Regional capitals has been suspended until further notice.
We want to take this opportunity to thank Leadership and all Members of GNAT for the unwavering support demonstrated to kick against the implementation of this draconian tax.
