Schools from various regions in Ghana will compete against each other for the top prize. Organized by Junior Achievement Ghana, the event is expected to enhance young Ghanaians' entrepreneurial abilities, continuing its successful track record.
The winner of the Ghanaian leg will represent the country at the continental competition in Rwanda. Held at the Academic City College in Accra from August 30 to September 1, 2023, under the theme "Breaking Barriers," the competition seeks to nurture entrepreneurship among students. Abeiku Greene, Executive Director of Junior Achievement Ghana, emphasized the importance of teaching students entrepreneurship basics to address unemployment.
The Director of Marketing and Communications for Academic City College, Nelly Agyemang-Gyamfi, expressed excitement about the students' business ideas and their potential impact on youth unemployment. Participating schools include Legacy Girls College, Aburi Girls Senior High School, Northern School Of Business, and others. The National Business Pitch Competition is an annual event celebrating the innovation of high school entrepreneurs. It concludes JA Ghana’s company program and encourages students to pitch their business ideas in thematic areas like Agriculture, Water sanitation, Renewable Energy, and Health Technology.
