Ghana is a country which comprise of Christians, Muslims and Traditional worshippers. To ensure equal balance between the various religions equal value and respect must be given to all. Once Christians enjoy Easter and have a holiday likewise Muslims are also given a day to celebrate Eid-ul- Fitr .
The government of Ghana has announced a day for the celebration as a holiday through a release which reads; The general public is hereby notified that Saturday, 22nd April, 2023 marks Eid-ul-Fitr which is a Statutory Public Holiday.
However, in view of the fact that 22nd April, 2023 falls on a Saturday, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has by Executive Instrument (E.I), in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601) declared Monday, 24th April, 2023 as an additional Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.
